His plan started off swimmingly. While Henry was busy sampling some cheesecake that Auntie Beth brought home, Mommy and Daddy missed their connecting flight in Minneapolis due to some inane oversight by Northwest Airlines, whose personnel told everyone on the plane that the gate agents knew of the delay and would be waiting for them, but failed to tell said gate agents, who proceeded to close the plane doors.
We'll sum the night up this way: If you find yourself in a minivan with a heavily accented Jamaican cab driver in Eagan, Minnesota at midnight (who has to look up directions to the Days Inn where Northwest is putting you up), it's a balmy 5 degrees outside, and you haven't eaten in 9 hours, try the McDonald's drive through using the minivan's sliding door for ordering and pick up. You'll make the shift manager laugh.
After finally arriving in Las Vegas, Mommy and Daddy seemed to have a good time, doing silly things like shots and watching friends pose like ship figureheads.

Sometimes though, they just relaxed.

Back on the east coast, Henry headed out to his first auction, visibly delighted at all of the excitement.
Most importantly, Henry's also enthusiastically using his souvenir:
Yes, that is a baby Elvis, complete with pacifier in his mouth, surrounded by dice and slot machines. Can't wait to see what daycare says about this!

Thank Heavens it wasn't one of those silly Vegas T-shirts
We are soooo jealous of the Elvis sippy cup.
Glad you enjoyed some time away. We are leaving next weekend for a week and can't wait!
