Richmond, the 2009 Edition

Last year, Henry visited Richmond to help celebrate Millie's impending arrival. This year, he headed south to celebrate her 1st birthday!

So off we went southbound in the car. After our overnight drive, during which Henry was supposed to be sleeping but was instead looking at all the trucks, we stopped at Cracker Barrel for breakfast. Henry was a big fan of their outdoor seating.

Even though we were away from home, Henry obviously had to swim & tested the hotel pool.

We had to find a different farmer's market because we couldn't be with Daddy. Henry liked this one better because it offered ice cream cones.

Then it was off to the party! First we enjoyed all the games and fun toys Millie had for our entertainment.

Then of course it was time for cake. Henry tried to share Millie's spotlight, even gracing her with his own singing of Happy Birthday!

When Millie wasn't too interested in using her hands, Henry fed her birthday cake.

He obviously enjoyed the cake too!

Time for presents.

A feeble attempt (and the best of several shots) at a group photo.

To wind down the day, Henry and Millie sat reading a book.
